Feels So Good

“Feels So Good” is a song from Melanie B’s debut album Hot

Lyrics:

I was gonna get all soft and smoochy
(Oh yeah) I love you baby (oh yeah)
(Oh yeah) I love you baby (oh yeah)
(Oh yeah) I love you baby (oh yeah)

Yipee

Oh yeah, feels so good
I’m loving you like I should
Remembering how it feels
Letting go to have you near
Oh yeah, feels so good
I never thought that it could
My feelings are deep inside
This love I found won’t ever hide

Let’s go from the very start
When we met you and I were inseperable
All at once we swapped our hearts
Knowing that we had it right
People got involved with us
I should have pushed them all away
Now I know what went wrong
Why did is take me so long

Lovin’ you, lovin’ you, is the easy part
Now I know, now I know, what to do with it
Me and you, me and you, keeping it tight
Cos two of a kind makes us so right

Oh yeah, feels so good
I’m loving you like I should
Remembering how it feels
Letting go to have you near
Oh yeah, feels so good
I never thought that it could
My feelings are deep inside
This love I found won’t ever hide

Partnerships have ups and downs
Understand you and I are not alone
Feeling real normality
Come on put your trust in me
Believe in me when I say
Everyone can keep away
Now I know what went wrong
Why did it take me so long

Lovin’ you, lovin’ you, is the easy part
Now I know, now I know, what to do with it
Me and you, me and you, keeping it tight
Cos two of a kind makes us so right

Oh yeah, feels so good
I’m loving you like I should
Remembering how it feels
Letting go to have you near
Oh yeah, feels so good
I never thought that it could
My feelings are deep inside
This love I found won’t ever hide

I know how I want you
I know how I need you
Together we’ll always be
Ever after happily
Feeling free you and me
No one can touch us now
That is how it’s got to be

Each passing day, we grow stronger still
Like the after taste of a bitter pill
Keep the hurt and pain far away from me
Warm me in your glow of the ecstacy

Ladies holla if you hear me (oh yeah)
Fellas holla if you feel me (oh yeah)
Everybody can you see me (oh yeah)
Cos two of a kind makes us so right

Oh yeah, feels so good
I’m loving you like I should
Remembering how it feels
Letting go to have you near
Oh yeah, feels so good
I never thought that it could
My feelings are deep inside
This love I found won’t ever hide

Oh yeah, feels so good
I’m loving you like I should
Remembering how it feels
Letting go to have you near
Oh yeah, feels so good
I never thought that it could
My feelings are deep inside
This love I found won’t ever hide

Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Oh yeah

I love you baby (oh yeah)
I need you baby (oh yeah)
I love you baby (oh yeah)

Oh yeah, feels so good
I’m loving you like I should
Remembering how it feels
Letting go to have you near
Oh yeah, feels so good
I never thought that it could
My feelings are deep inside
This love I found won’t ever hide

fsgcdpr“Feels So Good” is a song from Melanie B’s debut album Hot, released as the album’s second single in February 19, 2001. In the United Kingdom, it peaked and debuted at number 5, selling 55,000 copies in its first week and 140,331 altogether, becoming the 85th best-selling single of 2001.

On May 29, 2020, designer Ian Ross, responsable for many Spice Girls solo cover designs, shared a initial cover layout from what would be the cover from UK CD 2, that was meant to be released, but later was scrapped.

Background:

Mel B recorded the song in her 25th birthday, on May 29, 1999, and a clip from the recording is played on the Flava documentary, that aired on the June 6th’s episode in 1999. About the recording session, Mel B said, quote: “I worked in Minneapolis for two weeks and got to spend Jimmy Jam’s 40th birthday with him and sing with the cake alongside Janet Jackson.”

The single was meant to be released on February 12, 2001, but Melanie decided to wait another week to released in a better radio promotion, on February 19th, Phoenix birthday.

The video starts out with Brown driving her car down a road singing the intro and scenes of a house with a couple kissing. The first chorus starts as Brown gets out of her car. As the song progresses, she walks through the house singing the song with scenes of three couples kissing and then an unseen blinding light appears and the woman in each couple knock something over (e.i. a glass of wine, a bowl of doughnuts, a beer bottle). The video ends with Brown and her boyfriend kissing on a bed and a bright light flashing.

The video was shot and directed by Martin Weisz in November 2000. According to Brown, the video was originally scheduled to be shot in the Mojave Desert, which was where the album photoshoots were taken, but the idea was scrapped due to a heavy amount of rain.
